Bishop La Verne D. Mercado Ecumenical Center

Bishop La Verne D. Mercado was first and foremost a person who followed the example of Christ. He was an active and staunch advocate of human rights, peace and justice. His ministry to political detainees, stemming from his Christian faith and conviction led to his imprisonment for a month or so in 1974 during Martial Law. Bishop Mercado was a respected ecumenical leader in the Philippines and abroad. He was a man of faith, a man of truth, and a man of honor.

The Bishop La Verne D. Mercado Ecumenical Center houses the NCCP Library and Documentation Office as well as the offices of the Ecumenical Loan Foundation, Inc. (ECLOF), and Planning, Research Institutional Support and Management Services (PRISMS).

It also houses the Bishop La Verne D. Mercado mini-museum. The museum holds photos, memorabilia, and some written work of the late Bishop Mercado. The museum was inaugurated on December 4, 2004.

The Ecumenical Center may be used as a venue for meetings, seminars and conferences. Conference Room A has a capacity of 20-35 participants while Conference Room B is perfect for small, intimate meetings with a capacity of 10-15 participants.

On the third floor are accommodation rooms for guests and in-house conference participants. All rooms have its own toilet and bath. A maximum of 35 persons can be lodged at the Ecumenical Center.
