JOB OPENING
The NATIONAL COUNCIL OF CHURCHES IN THE PHILIPPINES (NCCP) ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF THE POSITION OF
ASSISTANT PROGRAM SECRETARY Program Unit on Christian Unity and Ecumenical Relations
This program unit of the NCCP is tasked to articulate and project the ecumenical perspectives and theology of the Council to various audiences.
Under this unit are concerns on (1) Membership Expansion and Development (2) External and Ecumenical Relations and (c) Evangelism and Ecumenical Witness.
Also under this unit are concerns on Interfaith and Indigenous Peoples as well as the regular NCCP Ecumenical celebrations such as the Easter Sunrise Service, Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, National Minorities Week, Ecumenical Witness Week and Bilateral Dialogues with other National Council of Churches.
The program unit also coordinates the Faith and Order Committee, Chaplaincy Committee and Indigenous Peoples Committee of the Council.
I. Main Duties: 1. Shall assist the Program Secretary on all affairs of the Program Unit; 2. Shall lead or spearhead specific concerns/thrusts of the Program Unit as may be assigned by the Program Secretary; 3. Shall be Officer-in-Charge of the Program Unit in the absence of the Program Secretary; 4. Shall be operationally and administratively responsible to the Program Secretary; Shall perform other duties that may be assigned to him/her by the Council;
II. Required Competencies: 1. Ability to articulate and project the ecumenical perspective and theology of the Council to its constituents, partners and the general public; 2. Ability to represent the Council at assemblies of member churches and associates, local partners, government and non-government agencies 3. Ability to work in a flexible, collaborative and collegial way in a multicultural environment 4. Ability to manage one’s own work and time within a context of multiple responsibilities and ability to work under pressure and deadlines Ability and willingness to travel, sometime on short notice
III. Qualifications and Special Requirements: 1. Member of any of the Member-Churches of the NCCP; 2. Possesses a bachelor’s degree in theology; preferably an ordained person 3. Capable of doing multi-tasking functions 4. Skills in effective oral communications and public relations work 5. Skills in project proposal making and report writing an advantage 6. Willing to reside in Metro Manila 7. Endorsed by the Bishop or Denominational Head
